Cara Collective has a mission of building an inclusive economy by developing employment pathways to advance transformative individual and community success. Through its three entities—Cara, Cleanslate, and Cara Plus—it engages job seekers, employers, and other organizations across the country to fuel a courageous national movement to eradicate relational and financial poverty. Through the Civic Committee’s Hiring Initiative, Cara Collective draws on its experience placing more than 9,400 people with employment barriers to support graduates of community violence intervention (CVI) programs in securing meaningful work—while also serving as a talent pipeline and strategic partner to companies expanding access to employment.

The Corporate Coalition of Chicago is an alliance of more than 50 Chicagoland companies changing their hiring, procurement, and investment strategies to reduce longstanding economic and racial inequities. By rethinking longstanding business practices, members of the Corporate Coalition are creating a more thriving region for everyone. The Coalition provides individual and group consulting services that help companies implement new practices at a scale that matches the magnitude of the challenges in our region.

Skills for Chicago is an employment resource for unemployed and underemployed job seekers. Skills recruits, screens, and coaches jobseekers to connect them with its highly engaged employer network and expands employers’ access to talent by influencing hiring practices, through data-informed recruitment and by facilitating referrals from a broad, committed network of community partners. Skills connects employers, community partners, and job seekers to serve as a hub in Chicago’s workforce ecosystem.
